According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word mixology refers to “the art or skill of preparing mixed drinks.” What if we applied this to skincare? The Potions encourages the mixing and matching of ampoules according to the needs of your skin to create a unique routine of your own. In today’s article, we want to talk about the mixology behind The Potions and some of our favorite “recipes”.
The Potions offers a long line of single ingredient ampoules, which can be mixed together or added to your skincare routine to create your very own unique recipe for your skin. By knowing the ingredients and their targeted benefits, you can create a routine that will create beautiful porcelain skin that is envied by all without the fuss.
Here are some of our favorite The Potions “recipes” that your skin will crave based on skin concerns.
1. Margarita - For Dry Skin (Galactomyces, Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba Oil)
Hyaluronic Acid and Galactomyces are already well-known for their hydrating effects on the skin. Hyaluronic Acid provides the skin with deep hydration while Galactomyces brightens dull skin and controls sebum production while hydrating the skin. On top of that, Jojoba Oil is an underdog ingredient that also provides the skin with deep hydration and makes sure the skin stays hydrated, making this recipe perfect for dry skin. |
2. Cosmopolitan - For Acne Prone Skin (Centella Asiatica, Tea Tree Oil, Calamine)
Centella Asiatica has wonderful soothing and healing properties that cannot be beat by any other ingredient. Cica has been long loved by the skincare community and it is well worth the hype for anyone who is suffering from acne or needs a little help with the scars from acne. Tea Tree Oil and Calamine are both hero ingredients when it comes to acne-prone skin. Combine them with Centella Asiatica to get the ultimate routine for your acne-prone skin to treat acne past, present, and future! |
3. Piña Colada - For Oily to Combination Skin (Mugwort, Peptide, Q10, Camellia Seed Oil)
Those with oily to combination skin need more TLC! We know how difficult it is to find the right routine and this recipe is just perfect for those with oily to combination skin. Mugwort has great healing properties and together with Q10, it is great for the moisturizing and healing aspects needed. (Yes, oily skin needs to be moisturized too!) Peptide induces the formation of healthy skin cells and Camellia Seed Oil helps to protect the skin from external irritants. |
